WELCOME TO AK COLLECTABLES! There is a broad spectrum of items on our website, all of which encompass a common theme: intricacy, detail, and quality.
The inspiration for mineral and fossil collecting began forty years ago during a picnic one unseasonably warm Thanksgiving Day in Binghamton, New York. Glancing at the ground, I noticed what appeared to be pieces of shell embedded in a mud-like stone. Fossils! The minerals and fossils displayed on our website are mined and collected from all over the world. All specimens are hand picked for their beauty and uniqueness, some of which are extremely rare and of museum quality. They are magnificent for use in interior design or as distinctive cabinet specimens. We have categorized the pieces by color or by name to meet everybody’s needs. A portion of our collection is on display at The Hibel Museum of Art in Jupiter, Florida. It is gratifying to hear from the dedicated museum staff that children and adults alike are as enamored by the collection as we are.
The paper memorabilia section includes an array of authentic antique postcards, sheet music, lithographs, and magazines from the late 1800’s to the mid 1900’s. These are superb for interior decoration, as gifts, and in many instances of historic interest as well. Please feel free to peruse through the other sections.
